Health and wellness coaching is a skill set that empowers people to tap into their own inner source of motivation to restore and preserve health and well-being. As a health and wellness coaching student, you will learn the best research-based practices in coaching and gain proficiency in the following essential competencies:

- Assessing client readiness to make changes
- Helping clients clarify personal health and wellness goals

- Managing progress and accountability to help clients achieve goals
Unique to Tai Sophia’s health and wellness coaching philosophy, and an essential component of the curriculum, is teaching people to be aware of the body’s innate wisdom and to regard symptoms and struggles as teachers. Other distinctive program features include an integrative approach to wellness and healing, a focus on whole-person care, and a model that emphasizes prevention. Our coaching courses are approved by the International Coach Federation (ICF) as 200-hour Approved Coach Specific Training (ACSTH) programs and can lead to ICF coach certification.
At a time when the nation is struggling with obesity and chronic illness, health and wellness coaching is an evidenced-based approach to restoring and maintaining health. As a student in either of these academic programs, you will be prepared with the skills and expertise to empower people to take charge of their own health and create sustainable change.
Note: These programs do not require the Graduate Record Exam (GRE).
In this exciting program, you will be participating in the nation’s only master’s degree in health and wellness coaching. This innovative curriculum includes courses from the graduate certificate in health and wellness coaching, plus specific science-oriented courses, and an area of concentration in integrative health. Concentration options currently include: integrative nutrition, herbal studies, or, if you are already a health care professional, medical herbalism. Set yourself apart in this emerging field now by earning the highest academic credential in health and wellness coaching. You can complete this 30-credit program in 12-24 months. The majority of courses are offered in a weekend format.
For students not quite ready to commit to the Master of Arts in Health and Wellness Coaching program, this 15-credit certificate program is a perfect starting point for gaining core knowledge and a comprehensive skill set in health and wellness coaching. In a supportive learning community, students are taught by distinguished leaders and innovators in the fields of coaching, health and wellness, and transformative learning. You can complete the program in 11 months in a weekend format, gaining the skills, knowledge, and confidence you need to help people make positive lifestyle changes. The program includes a practicum, where you work one-on-one with clients and begin to build your coaching practice. All credits for the graduate certificate transfer into the 30-credit Master of Arts in Health and Wellness Coaching program.
