Art (1056 hours, typically 2 Semesters)

A studio-based program designed for students entering the Tattooing Program who do not have an extensive background in art. The program builds essential skills in drawing, composition, design, and visual fundamentals required for success in professional tattoo training. In addition to serving as preparation for tattooing, the Art Program also stands alone as career training for those pursuing work as professional artists. Graduates develop portfolio-ready skills applicable to illustration, mural work, design, and other creative fields.

The Art program provides training for the following positions:

  • Tattoo Artist Apprentice (or fulfill the art prerequisite to enter TAI’s Tattooing program).
  • Studio Artist / Fine Artist
  • Illustrator
  • Freelance Digital Artist
  • Concept Artist (entry-level)
  • Muralist / Decorative Artist
  • Gallery Assistant
  • Creative Production Assistant
  • Mixed Media Artist
  • Community / Youth Art Instructor
